Banks & the futire of of banking
« on: 13 June 2025, 13:37:41 »

I rang my bank yesterday to ask a question. They gave me a good understanding of what I asked.

Today they sent me a survey asking how was the experience.

But they never send a questionnaire or survey when you try to with withdraw money after the amount of questions they asking what the reason is wanting t with draw it. Or even paying in money.

Seen so many reports and videos of how bad the banks have become. :-\

No wonder people are drawing their cash out to stop the banks controlling because of the governments around the world are trying to control finance. :-X

Talks of digital currency, years ago after a baby was taken from a hospital they added security to maternity wards but there was even mentions of having chip implants to stop it happening on the future, the truth maybe was they were planning to other options in motion. (tracking and fiances being just 2 of them)

There is 50 note limit allowing payment of £1000 using the ATM style machine but go to the counter trying to pay in more is crazy.

Banks are no different to any other major, public facing company these days. They want you to do everything yourself, on an app or web page. They want customers to fit in to a certain category and, anyone outside that category, is more trouble than their worth.

The police here stopped a car with 120,000 euros. The driver hadn’t got a valid reason for the cash so it was confiscated.

We can’t pay for anything over 1000 euros with cash.

I think the max amount of Euros you can take out or in the country is 10,000 but you need an audit trail.

That's true - but that is the max amount with out having to declare it.  I have read if you declare above that amount and with valid reason it all good, and even better if in sealed bank bags and support of a bank statement for proof.  But try getting more than £1000 from a bank without interrogation. :-X

Banks do what the government tells them to do. If they are caught flouting the rules, they are given massive fines.

10,000 anything is pretty much standard for carrying cash across borders.

Going into to India, you have to declare all currency regardless of value on entry. They can check it again on the way out too if they want. Same with phones etc.

Paying in €1,000 is pretty stubborn though when you can transfer unlimited funds electronically. I suspect much of the reason is for taxation purposes.
