The UN needs to do its job. And the Palestinian population needs to turn on Hamas.

That's all there is to it.

In a nutshell, that’s exactly what should have and should be happening now. Otherwise why were the UN formed in the first place? The population needs to get a gorilla force together…. Eradicate these animal Hamas tossers and start afresh. There will never be a two state again and why should there be?

Agree about getting shot of Hamas, but after that there MUST be a Palestinian State.  Why not?  It is what the region needs and wants, being supported by the leaders of Europe and Middle East;  well, with the exception of Israel! ;)

The issue is the Gaza Strip, not Palestine per se.

And for the record, 45 UN countries (plus Israel) don't recognise it, so it's not just Israel.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMntpSExoGv/?igsh=MWZnb2UwZzhmc2pjNQ==  is potentially being caused by nefarious  participants within the UN.

As long as Hammas exists, Palestine will never know peace.

It has also been suggested that the captain on the flight involved trained one of the 9/11 hijackers.

The UN is part of the problem with their perpetuation of generational refugee (victimhood) status for Palestinians, something that has not happened anywhere else in the world where people have been displaced.  ::) Are there enclaves of 'refugees' in Europe after WW2? Nope. Are there enclaves of 'refugees' in India or Pakistan after the partition of British India? Nope. Is there an enclave of 'refugees' in Cyprus after the Turkish invasion and continued illegal occupation of Northern Cyprus? Nope. So why have the Palestinians been accorded this status?  ???

The UN agencies are corrupt as hell as well, UNRWA being the obvious example, and something extremely strange is going on when we see thousands of pallets of food sat rotting in the hot desert sun and the UN are not delivering it despite apparent famine conditions.  :-\

He may have done, unwittingly, before they were kicked off the course. But any captain would have thrown those little bastards off the plane.

The UN is too corrupt, and filled with biased people, so can no longer do a useful role.  As for turning against Hamas, that won't happen.  As I understand it, Hamas were democratically elected*, partly on a promise to remove the state of Israel.

*As much as you can be in these parts of the world.  In the same way, a significant proportion welcomed the return of the Taliban.

There are ways to deal with such behaviour.

We used to make do with 15 hour coach trips to go abroad  and if you misbehaved, you only affected the people on the coach, ie people from the same school.

Nowadays, a trip isn't worth going on unless it involves flying. Unfortunately, when you have groups of 40-60 kids and only 4 staff, they're only as well behaved as the staff supervising them. Some groups are very well managed and therefore behaved and others are feral.  And nationality doesn't come into it.

That the kids were Jewish and the captain of Arab descent obviously won't have had any impact on the situation at all :-X

Re the recognition of Palestine, I don't suppose that it's a coincidence that the UK is one of the more prominent UN members that doesn't recognise Palestine as a state. That group includes much of NATO.

Starmer has issued Israel with an ultimatum that if they do not make peace with Hamas by September, then Britain will recognise Palestine as a state.

He said the Israeli government must make substantive steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza, agree to a ceasefire and commit to a long-term sustainable peace, allow the UN to restart the supply of aid and make clear there will be no annexations in the West Bank.

To Hamas he said that they must immediately release all of the hostages, sign up to a ceasefire, disarm and accept that they will play no part in the government of Gaza. However there are no consequences for Hamas if they do not comply with his demands!  ::)

This is quite extraordinary, coming just a few days after Steve Witkoff the US Envoy confirmed that the reason peace talks broke down recently were because Hamas weren't interested, and I suspect the announcement is as much timed and designed for domestic politics as international.  :-X

You have just stated what the consequences are.  They will lose their power, and elicit income, and be reduced to nothing, after losing so much already.

It is all politics in a situation that has been really there for centuries, and certainly since the 20th century post the Ottoman Empire, and cost so much.  This move is hoped to settle the hopeless plight of Palestinians, release the hostages (IF still alive), and bring the Israelite’s to heel from creating a very large extension to their domain, which is what they have been trying to do in Gaza, which even a former Israeli Prime Minister has condemned, and is against International Law. ;)

But, this is all complex politics involving the dangerous Middle East, which MAY, JUST MAYBE, will be all settled and peaceful one (distant?) day.  ::) ::) ::) :-X
