V6 oil level sensor
« on: 09 September 2025, 21:54:55 »

Is there a trick to getting the connector out of the sump? The Haynes says to remove the clip and "simply" push the connector through from the outside. I suspect that the thing's just gone a bit brittle after nearly thirty years and doesn't want to budge, but I thought I'd check first rather than go heavy on it.  :y

The bit of the connector on the inside of the sump is all one piece, right? Before I go trying to undo it or anything ...

It might require some gentle persuasion, but should simply push onto the sump once the clip is removed.

The seal.is probably oil soaked and baked plastic now, so expect to replace it even if the sensor itself is fine.
