The data would end up in the hands of everyone, including China, Russia and the US.

I think the thing is that this would bring all of our data together in one place, all ready to be stolen or sold to the highest bidder. 

And held by the government who we know don't have the best interests of the British people at the core of things and who have a track record of losing, leaking and having data nicked!
