Harry Metcalfe's Jag
« on: 10 November 2025, 10:17:18 »

Don't know if anyone has followed this Jag XJC V12

Harry bought it for something like £5000 or £6000, spent a shed load on it £70odd thousand IIRC & then when sold went for silly money.

I think his restoration/restomod made it about as good as any xjc could be. There's a good YT video out there by Tom Lenthal who did all the work on the v12. Apparently he now does a decent trade in 'Harey spec' v12 upgrade packages  ;D

But yes, hard to justify the price when you could recreate what has been done, to your exact tastes, for substantially less than the purchase price.

When you said 'silly money' I was thinking silly money low rather than silly money high. ;)

Like around £10,000. ::)

Lovely car but not for that money. :y

It is one hell of a car (have seen and sat in it) and Harry was saying it gets down the road, and also now corners, like something pretty modern and high spec.

I guess if its what you want, you have the money, and don't want the hastle of getting your own to that standard, then it's not an awful price to pay

Harry has a fantastic collection of vehicles, I watched about an hour of his stroll round his warehouse collection on YouTube last week £140,000 must be like pocket change to him.
