Allready been mentioned mortgage rates to rise and savings rates to fall.

My mortgage is history as it's settled but I cant keep track with savings rates.  Best I have seen recently is Yorkshire Building Society.@ 5.7% where the Halifax has allready droped to 4.25% (Both Gross%)

Hell how do you mange to save owt ??? I cant at all on my income ! 8-)

Awaiting the advice of my IFA on where to invest my retirement lump-sum ...he phoned to say that all last weeks work is now irrelevant and he'll need to start again once things settle down. Looks like we'll stick it in an instant access account short term.

One good-ish thing ... the decision on the pension annuity we did two weeks ago was timely ... seems annuity rates have dropped big time this week .. the rate is fixed and they can't wiggle out of it .. :)

Thankfully I changed my mortgage a few months ago now fixed for 5 years, but I notice my credit card companies keep reducing my limit, most recently being today BOS reduced my card by £300, so rather than pay off before going abroad I may just continue to pay the minimun and keep the money in the bank ::) :y :-/

Now I'm suffering real confusion at the moment. i've recently re-mortgaged and sorted all my finances. This involved securing some combined (unsecured) debts of around £12k! It was an informed decision and has made a huge difference to the quality of our life. Basically we went from paying just over the minimum on our cards to closing 2 accounts and using just 1 for everything, paying it in full every month. What I find amazing is that this card company have just increased my limit by £2000! Now I don't plan to use it but is that really responsible lending?  :o :o :o
