The new Rad might come with plastic bungs in those holes. I think mine did.

Mine seems strange in that its an auto but does not use the holes in the side of the main rad for cooling  also its got aircon but the pipes that run over the top seem to be from a separate trans oil cooler radiator. Thanks for your help everyone.

Over the top trans cooler pipes actually mean a better trans cooler as it is in front of the radiator.

The new radiators still have the trans cooler built in because it's cheaper and easier to build one radiator for the whole production spectrum than having to make several different radiators on the off chance someone wants a radiator for a 1994 2.0 manual. ;)

As in run over the top of the rad, preventing the rad from lifting upwards?  This was what I was debating with DG, and as far as I know, the only solution is to Degas the A/C, remove those pipes, and refit afterwards with new seals, and regas.
