That does look rather nice. And it'd be so much fun on a wet roundabout. ;)

It'll be less economcal than an MV6 with a tuned crossflow on 40DCOEs too. ;D

Bloke who lives opposite me has a mk1 rs2000 rally car, looks and sounds lovely,he did have a metro 6r4 until he went the classic route.
his next door neighbour has a mk1 lotus cortina which he uses for classic racing. I am not at all jealous. ;)

Lol, it always makes me chuckle when we reminisce about 'old' cars.

Bitter experience is that when you actually get in one and drive it again......you realise they are pretty Shite compared to the 30 years newer ones we have grown used to.

.. complain that she didn't go as well as she used to 30 years ago?  ;D

'tis true, in standard form. However, the MK1/2 Escrot is about as tuneable as you could wish for. I reckon it could be developed into something fun.

I think the handling (steer it on the throttle) of cars like the old escorts etc: at relatively sensible speeds was (and still would be)one of lifes great joys.  :)
