A GPO van  ;D ;D ;D

GPO.....now you ARE showing your age!  ;D ;D ;D

Was an ex van for the company I worked for.  Got a good deal as my Dad was the transport manager, he thought it would be a nice safe little runabout.

Didnt take long before it was taking bends on 2 wheels as it wouldnt slide the back end..  lol

I guess my era was of smoking RS turbos (they seemed to be 2 stroke), 16V astra's, cav and calibra turbos and the Lotus Carlton

I liked older cars when I started driving, and I loved my Sunbeam

Had bikes for years

The Avenger was (imo) an under rated alternative to the escort.had 2 of them, they ciuld be made to go/handle quite well with a bit of work.
3 litre Capri imo was a very over rated car.not that quick and handled like a barge.

Totally agree ....  :y :y :y

Yes they are rubber wings and the drivers side of the split windscreen is hinged at the top and open as a vent. I wish it was mine! It's owned by Robin Beardmore a good friend from the Minor world. Have a google for the Beardmore brother to see some of their other cars.

Not the one I passed my test in 1500cc though ;D

Single carb - 1.5" Stromberg?

AFAIR they were mid 60s in bhp the  bigger carb or twin Strombergs were 75 and the GT I think was just over 90
