Good news story!
« on: 24 June 2026, 21:49:18 »

Spring 24, Mrs V bought a very expensive and very long roll up garden hose reeel. Essential item here to tidy up the inevitable miles of hose everywhere.

Worked great summer 24. During the winter rodents got in and ate a fair amount of the hose. Looked on net and no how to repair Gardena roll up. Only warnings of danger of the internal spring.

I didn’t have a long enough T20 to undo the screws so resorted to getting Gardena involved in Madrid. They said use local agent. Went there and he had never seen one and I am too busy. Try us again in the Autumn. Went back and after weeks he repaired it at my cost.

Put it inside our hacienda untested and got it out two weeks ago to replace the miles of hose lying around ….and it leaked.
Back to agent and he said “ it was fine after I replaced the hose”.

Spent 6 euros on an extra long T20 , opened up the casing except for an area marked Danger. Saw where the leak was. Repairer agent hadn’t tightened the seal. Easy fix with a large Allen key. Result. I very nearly cut the new pipe and binned the rest. Six euros well spent.

Nice one, worth a punt then.  :y
I always have to try to fix things, even if we’ve already replaced the faulty item. It annoys the hell out of my Mrs.  ;D
