After a very tough few weeks it looks like we've turned a corner, SWMBO has had a very tough time with a nervous disorder which affected her drastically, fortunately we eventually found a consultant who recognised what the issue was and arranged treatment, not available under the NHS but nevertheless never mind the cost it has brought us back to almost " normality".  Our daily life has been turned upside down but it's great to be out walking together, I've sold both the Range Rover & the Yaris Cross the RR was impossible for her to get into & the hybrid had started showing problems with the 12v battery due to lack of use, I returned the Yaris to my local dealership and bought a 2025 Aygo X just a normal petrol engine to potter around in , and I think it's a great little motor. We've decided to hang on to the caravan for now ,fingers crossed we'll be able to use it next year , no the Aygo won't be used to tow it so the search may begin for a new towcar,  never take health for granted & thank god for some very clever people who specialise in various forms of debilitating illness.

Glad that you are hopefully getting back to some form of normality.    It’s a horrible situation when a family member is ill and you can’t do anything personally to help them. All you can do is show them love and to be patient, which is not always as easy as it sounds, considering our own frustration.
Hope you both manage to come through this and get back to living a normal as possible life.

Glad she is on the road to recovery, after what sounds like a traumatic time.  Hope you'll be able to get to use the caravan (and get in my way on the roads, lol) in a few months - I feel it's good to get away occasionally, and forget about the normal routine of life.  Certainly following my health scare a few months ago, quick trips to Santorini and Kefalonia helped, and gave me time to reflect on the medical whirlwind that had happened.

Now get your pinkie on, you have a house to clean, and lunch to cook her.  Chop chop!

Pinkie or pinnie , makes no odds I've been in touch with my feminine side over the past few weeks with all the cooking & cleaning etc.. the main highlight being I've been able to put 3 sugars in my tea instead of the one & a bit that SWMBO insists is better for me..👍

Sorry to hear of your and wife challenges

Glad you are facing those, and taking a positive approach to them.  In life that is what we do, if at all sensible, to keep motoring along and trying to live a "normal" life.

Thanks all of you, it certainly gives you a short sharp shock when you realise that your whole life & daily routine is possibly going to change beyond all recognition, I've got to admit that more than a couple of times I really felt like giving up completely, luckily we have some good friends who rallied round to help , fortunately my wifes cousin has a son who's a GP and he realised what the problem could be and put is in touch with a consultant he knew and everything took a turn for the better, the best that the NHS had  offered were daily exercises which proved to  be no help at all. We've been out walking today with the dogs and it was great, she doesn't feel up to driving at the moment & I'm not going to rush her into doing anything.

Sounds like you were lucky to find someone who recognised her condition Mick. 

Glad to hear that she's on the mend and fingers crossed for a full recovery!

I think most of us think (or hope) that continuing good health is gonna happen. I've been lucky to have been able to look after SWMBO as her health is failing with a number of serious conditions and getting frailer due to these conditions.
A few months ago i was put on a course of steroids for sudden hearing loss, and a reaction i had to them has left me with atrial fibrillation (A/F) again, and have also been diagnosed with heart failure which means that my heart can't pump enough oxygenated blood around and i get very fatigued very quickly. Luckily our youngest has returned home for an extended visit which is a great help.
Hope that your good lady gets back to full health soon Rangie and good luck to you both.
Just goes to show that life can chuck some nasty curve balls at you at the most inconvenient moments.

Your situation sounds far worse than mine, like you say we hope that good health continues & suddenly out of the blue something knocks you for six, I sincerely hope that you're getting the correct advice & assistance that you need at this time, I'm fortunate that my ailments are all under control with the meds I'm on , many thanks for your kind words.

a course of steroids

Only time I've been on them was a few months ago, after they'd put some iodine in my for a scan, and they a few days later I had a reaction to the iodine.

So I had to take 8 steroids at a time just before breakfast for a week.  After 8 pills, I was far too full to want any breakage, lol.
