VX semisynth price increase
« on: 19 September 2008, 17:21:35 »

Bought some yesterday from my local dealer on the 4 for 3 offer thats been running since Adam was a lad.  Jings, but the price has jumped, says I, to the chap behind the counter....   :o

4 galls (or 17.8 litres for the pedants....) now cost £33.49 (£10.83 each) on Trade Club.  And he tells me that its going up again next week to £11.50 per container, all plus VAT, making a cash cost jump from £38.18 to £45.04.

Get it while you can.....  :(

I think Vx (or their suppliers) speculate a bit, buy a fair way in advance.  They were slow to put it up, first being a few weeks ago....

I would imagine there will be an element of time lag between crude and refined oil prices as product works it's way through the system. If crude prices continue to fall I would hope to see a fall in engine oil prices in the coming months

It might drop, in a few months time if crude oil stays 'lowish'
Unleaded in one garage in Swindon has now dropped to 106ppl....bearing in mind it was around 120ppl a few weeks ago.....thats not a bad decrease.......however LPG has yet to drop in price.....but LPG price does usually follow what the petrol prices are doing a month or so behind........so hopefully same as oil  :-/

According to the guy at Calor, Swindon ... Calor buy their LPG on the "spot" market 5 months in advance, so prices move very slowly in relation to headline oil prices. "Company Policy" is to try to only change prices 4 times a year ....  how true that info is I have no idea .. just what he told me on Friday .. :(
