autobox problem on 2.5td estate....hardly pulls..?
« on: 29 September 2008, 18:46:58 »

my 1997 omega 2.5td estate, starts and runs fine, and if i put it in first...it pulls away ok.
but if i select 'D' it practically crawls, pulling away, and i have to revit quite high, just to get her to move...its just had a replacement gearbox, from another car, but i still have the original, that went the same way.
i was advised, just to swap the boxes, to cure the problem, but it hasn't changed a thing...any ideas...please.. (serious ones..lol )
if i can't find the solution...the cars up for sale, so any replies, or interest either way, would be appreciated...thanks.

I agree it does sound like that......Just like mine went when I cam sensor issues......and using the shift to override it, ie 1st/2nd etc worked.
Never tried snow mode and overiding with the shift.......but Ian_D could be onto a good suggestion as well (or electrical prob causing the box to be in snowmode)
