Downloadable OOF flyers
« on: 06 October 2008, 14:57:32 »

Please forgive my ignorance if this has been mentioned before.
Would it be a good idea to have a downloadable (i think it's PDF) file for the OOF flyers, then we could print our own instead of (iirc) asking another member to print some & post them off to who ever requires them?
Or maybe a button at the top of the page along Home etc where you could visit a page & just click print. I know i'd print some & hand them out, as i see loads of Migs, but alas no flyers :-[
I've had a look around the site & i don't see anything mentioned about flyers, but this is not to say it isn't there (where's my glasses)

Bad idea. Very bad idea.

You may well use a printer whereby the ink runs when wet.  So you stick one under a windscreen, and it rains, and runs all over someones paintwork...

Bad idea.

simple, buy a laminator! not expensive!

I do think the flyers could be made available to people who will produce them properly hence laminate them.

Trouble is, people will download and not laminate (either through cost, or because they didn't think of consequences), and we have a problem...

You are right, and it would probably happen, so I can see were your coming from. but if placed under the wiper blade away from paintwork I can't see how much damage it could do to glass!

anyway i shall say no more, its fair to say that it is too risky

I've seen flyers (not OOF ones) run onto bodywork....

I thought this would be a good idea, could print them off at work, rather than home, saw a lot of Migs last week, in Hartlepool. :)

Methinks a bunch of flyers purchased from OOF are :

1. Exceedingly cheap - less than 5p each
2. Safe - laminated as discussed
3. Of known high standard - everyone else's printer may be different and we wouldn't want the forum to look bad
4. A way of supporting the site - its only probably pennies .. but every little will help

:)
