South of France
« on: 07 October 2008, 15:11:04 »

Wifey booked a spell away in the Carcassone, South of France. It was a bit last minute and I wasn't keen to go but when the boss says jump, I ask how high ::) Anyway when we got there we hired a little Polo Diesel (70 BHP) which was brand new but I soon ran it in on road like this

Poor car, ;D but it went quite well. Took a trip over to Andorra where diesel was only 80 euros a litre. Its the first time ive been to the South of France and I really liked it, but I bet its hot in the summer, I think I will stick to the North ;)

Looks like one of those roads where you can never have too much power. :D

A bit more power would have been nice, it would have been even better without the wife in the passenger seat ;D

Tell me about it. Could have done without the passenger seat mounted rev limiter when I went here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stelvio_Pass. Apparently I'm going on my own next time. Going to be a long walk for her...  ;D

They're quite handy when you're driving on the 'wrong' side of the road. If they go white when you pull out to overtake, then you don't have enough room/time! ::)  :y

We go down there in July, but a little further along near Nice and Monte Carlo...

It is warm in the summer, but when you find roads like that you know it is worthwhile  :y

Spent hours and hours at 8 to 9/10ths in a little Pug rental in the Pyrenees a couple of years ago.  Great fun!  :y
