Went to collect my engine hoist from the guy who bought the MV6 engine and the 71000 Elite lump.
The story is this.....
He rebuilt a 2.5 engine for his Vectra and then snapped the cambelt, so he rebuilt it again. guess what.. cambelt snapped. so thats when he decided to use the MV6 engine from the one I broke.
And you've seen the 1st pic at the begining of this thread of how that ended..
NOW...After Completely stripping the 71000 mile Elite engine and swapping all of the vectra bit's over he found........................... the OIL PICK UP was full of silicon from the 1st rebuild.
It starved the bottom end of oil and it seized, while the top end was still moving. ...Snapped belt. Not thinking they used the same pick up on the next 2 engines THIS is the result on the MV6 engine


4 Conrods are snapped, the cranks has snapped off at No.5 bigend WEB (NOT THE BEARING)
The crank sensor is bent internally so cannot be removed, The Block has 10 holes in it and is belled and the sump was cracked.
