Just to kick off on a tangent, sorry for breaking the thread, BUT, this general bad market has got me very concerned, gas/leccy prices especially, even though I'm capped, I'm in the process of installing a multi fuel stove, coal £16 / bag, I can get all the wood I need at the moment that is!
Speaking to the chimney sweep only yesterday, he says that there are an increasing number of homes going to solid fuel, he hasn't been so busy since the eighties, until Maggie shagg3d the pits.
It's hitting us all, with 2 years to pay on the mortgage, I'm in two minds whether to pay it off now with savings (Rainy day money) or what! I feel like I'm a squirrel rummaging around hoarding nuts for a long cold winter.
I really feel for some families who are not as fortunate as mine, young couples with new mortgages who jumped on the band waggon assuming that the price of houses were rising higher and higher, then, freeze n' fall, negative equity etc...
