You probably won't like this ... so only read on at your own risk .....
Extreme pain can be qualified as either long term continuous or short term excruciating .. this is under the latter .....
Some years back (17 odd) I had to have a "Cystoscopy" .. which for those who don't know is a camera on a tube inserted up through the penis to look inside the bladder. The modern version is quite simple and painless, however, 17 years ago this was "cutting edge" technology and the "tube" that carried the camera, electrics and a water supply for lubrication was slightly larger than a piece of "co-ax" cable .....
Needless to say this could only be inserted whilst the patient was under a "General Anaesthetic" as it is fairly obvious that it would be a "tight fit" .......
So I get the needle and go under, expecting to come round 30 minutes later with some residual discomfort that lasts about 4-5 days .....
Due to an error by the anaesthetist I wake up after 5 minutes, the tube is still inserted, the pain is terrible, and for some inexplicable reason ..... my body in its confused state ..... decides to give me an erection ...... (don't laugh .... )... so I'm lying there with a growing "stiffy" with a plethora of technology protruding from the end, a doctor wondering what the hell is going on, and the most extreme pain I have ever felt ....
I passed out ......
When I woke up everything hurt .. lots .... but apparently I was the talk of the hospital ... seems the doctor was somewhat traumatised by 2 things ... the "thing" he was holding suddenly starting to "grow"... and the "unconcious" patient suddenly screaming "my f*****g c**k hurts" in his ear !! (I didn't know I'd done that bit !!)...
I wouldn't wish that 30 seconds on anyone (except perhaps GB now I think about it ... )
