Considering I am a bit of an ugly bas**rd, I've done ok with women throughout my life.

When I was younger I had my fair share of girlfriends, and perhaps a little more. I couldn't go out with every girl I wanted to. But, overall I did well.

This got me to thinking, if I was in a position which for whatever reason I did not meet anyone of the opposite sex, would I be willing to use a dating agency.

My answer is a definite YES. Life is too short, and we have to take our opportunities when they arise.

Friends have said to me its only saddos who use dating agencies. I would say its only saddos who never meet women. So I would much prefer to use a dating agency if necessary, rather than being a sad middle aged man living at home with his mum (now that really is sad.)

Have any OOF members used them? Or would use them? Or have you used them and met a 'bunny boiler'?

And yeah I can see why they are used, but I find Facebook and just general mis-behaviour works wonders for me

I know many IT proffesionals use that way..As their life is really busy..

I used one about 4 and a half years ago and am now happily married since June to a woman I met through an online dating type website!

I am not really a big drinker and the social scene here really revolves around drink and getting hammered so I don't go out to the pubs much.  That ruled out a lot of opportunity for meeting women so I tried the online route and it worked out great for me.

But like anything in life, be prepared for the weirdos as well as the nice people!

i used to go on a chat room, was up and down round and round the country meeting women, was greta until i got stalked by someone close to me, that put a stop to it all, had some great fun, met some nice women and never once regretted it

I don't think dating agencies have the same stigma these days as years ago. I am a happily married man. I spent loads of Saturday nights out on the pull and ended up meeting my wife through work.
