Both myself amd Mrs Optimist are intrigued by Lizzie's Avatar.

We wonder where the picture was taken.

It looks as though Lizzie is standing in a communal area of a block of flats, judging by the adjacent stairs and board behind her head.

I'm sure everyone at OOF would be interested to know where this was taken?

As to the picture of Lizzie herself (providing of course she is not really a 6ft 3in hairy ars*d rugby player from Wales called Taffy.......well we are on the internet you never can tell), I would have to say that Lizzie is a bit of a looker...........a real babe in fact. :P :P :P

So come on Lizzie tell us where it was taken, and who was behind the camera?  ;) :y :y

Thank you Optimist!! :y :y :-* :-* :-*  I love people paying such lovely compliments; it makes a change from the insults (kind hearted of course!! :D :D) that anyone can receive on this site!! ;D ;D ;D ;D :-* :-* :y

The photo was taking in the main reception area of Canterbury jings Church University, in Old Sessions House, by a fellow female student (who are all far younger, prettier and brainier than me; makes you bloody sick!! ;D ;D ;D).

PS I am 5'7" tall, far too fat, and only.....well you know!!   :D ;)

ER... No we don't  ::)

Ah.....so you obviously have not been reading many of my posts then! :o :o :o :o :o :D   I have always stated, well since June, that I am ?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
Sorry Lizzie but I am sure that I have read many of your posts since I became a member, but I am completely lost on this one... Please elucidate.

Thanks,
Jim

All right then Jim! :D ;)

I remember the Suez Crisis of 1956; the Lewisham train disaster of 1957; the time when Austin's, Morris's, Riley's, Wolsley's, Ford Prefects, bubble cars and steam railway engines generally ruled the roost, with even some trolley buses around, The Beatles entering the charts; Harold Macmillan stating "We have never had it so good"; with men landing on the moon in 1969............... ok I am...............35,45; alright 55!! ::) ::) ::) ::)

Anthony Eden ..good foreign secretary....piss poor PM....apparently...well before my time.....being only 29years old. ::) ::) ::) :y

He had indeed been a very good Foriegn Secretary, under Churchill as well, but that is all he had done.  On top of that, and crucially, he was a very ill man after no less than nine botched medical operations that led him to be on high doses of medication.  Put simply, he was never well enough to be Prime Minister, let alone become embroiled in the Suez fiasco! :'( :'( :'( :'(

I struggle with my wedding anniversary, wifes birthday and what i had for lunch yesterday......let alone something that happened best part of 50 years ago....

Being in my 30's may be the reason behind the latter, although i have a great interest in both great wars

History is indeed interesting....

Heres a pointless one for you.

In what year did the RAF last shoot down another plane in combat?

Lived just up the road from that then - remember lorries up and down our road taking bodies to Ladywell Baths as makeshift mortuary.  Could see the carnage from the road bridge.
Don't remember the 60s though - must have enjoyed the 60s  8-) 8-) :y :y

Falklands - 1982?

I know our Harrier's brakes gave them superiority... or did I read that in The Sun? :)

Nope, that was the Navy.....the RAF harriers did bomber runs!

It was actually 1948.....when a UK Spitfire shot down an Egyptian Spitfire!

Believe me, remembering what happened 50 years ago is no problem.  Remembering what happened yesterday is the true bugger.  And as for where I left my keys/glasses/phone/wife...

Yes, thanks Jay, I have been told by professional profilers through various tests that we undertook for business (mostly all 'dangle berries'!!) that I have a photographic memory, that indeed does recall all I remember in pictures, along with it being sponge like, absorbing information quickly when exposed to it! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
