On the rare occassions i take the megga to the shops, i'm one of those people
who takes up two spaces to make sure they dont park near me ;) unfortunately
this did not help the other week when someone ran there trolly into my rear
bumper & dented the crome strip :'(

If you take up two spaces in the town centre here, you get clamped and forced to pay for another space. Not that expensive but bloody time consuming

AAAHH, clamping.  That gloriously Engerlish thing that was identified as extortion in Scotland and thus does not take place here!

Clamping is quite a good deterrent when used sensibly and fairly, and not seen as a cash cow. Unfortunately, in the sh*tty, money-grabbing world we live in today thats not going to happen.

a quick guide to see where you all park in a car park?

as near to the exit/destination as possible but having to squeeze into a space with lots of other cars,
or further away from exit/destination so not to be next to too many cars ie less car door denting??

me- i am an "end of row, furthest away from other cars parker, sick to death of the fat cow too busy on her mobile while swinging on her car door brigade! tone.
Frequently, I turn up at work, no parking available, so I drive home again. Thats assuming I go in in the first place....

whether he ever did it or not but...
a person i knew said that he had a wheel clamp and stuck council badges on it and every time he parked up town put it on... it served a number of purposes 1) he did not have to pay for parking 2) he could take up two bays 3) he would not get the car stolen and finally would not have anyone park near him for fear of the "clampers" and their big towaway truck causing damage.

personally i thought the guy was a bull shi**er but............

Would've attracted a lot of sympathy if he'd actually been clamped on another wheel as well ;D

I always try to use an end space or as far away from the supermarket entrance as possible, especially with either of my classics  :) Mind you, with them, you usually come back to find someone has parked next to them just to have a look - then opened the bloody door against it  :'( That's where 24hr supermarkets are good. Do your shopping at 3am, fairly empty carparks and no screaming kids either ;D

Cheers Jim
