Mrs Bitz was very ill a few years ago,I decided I would cook her boiled eggs and soldiers. After about 40 minutes of constantly being asked questions from the kitchen about how I should proceed, she came into the kitchen and said "for christs sake get out of the way ,I will do it myself. :-[ :-[ :-[
The result of being the only son of an old fashioned Irish mother. ;)

Me too :'(
When my x lived with me, we used to share the cooking, her cooking allways tasted better to me & mine allways tasted better to her. I put it down to the fact that you haven't been slaving away in the kitchen, but you've been smelling all those lovely aromas drifting from the kitchen & it makes you more hungry & so you enjoy it more.
Though tonight i'm entertaining a young lady & it's mine turn to cook & it's curry :P :P :P :P :P :P :y
But on the whole, men are better cooks, that's why there's loads on tv & we also win all the competitions ;)

Cook for 1 here - I can't stand supermarket ready meals so I have to.

Chilli is my favourite. A full size cook-up does 3 meals - eat one and freeze 2.

Sausage with mash & onion gravy is about as complicated as it gets. Some peas on the side and it's still healthier than most ready meals.

Most chefs nowadays are men I'd say.  I used to work in kitchens and it's pretty shitty, knackering work with terrible hours.  There was the odd female chef but tended to do pastry only.

I don't think it's something which relates to gender whether you are better at cooking or not but I would say when it comes to working in hotel/restaurant kitchens it's definitely a mans workplace probably why you see more on tv etc.

Agreed. It is a womans job to cook and clean ,that is the natural order of things.
women should be happy to do this for their men.
I'am not one of the new breed of men who cook and clean.
Women know your place. :D ;D :y

As I understand it that is because woman tend to have warmer hands which is ideal for pastry making. ;)

I would be most offended if any man took over the cooking in my kitchen...................I would go and sulk with a glass of wine, a good magazine, soft music and my feet up! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

...........and the reason why men tend to be good at cooking is that they do not have young children running around their feet all day as you are trying to cook, iron, do the housework, go to the shops, etc, etc.! ;) ;)   Woman have to cook under severe domestic pressure. ::) ::)
