Got some darling little 'gentlemen' round here who are training for the ASBO olympics....just finished fitting a two camera security system as we seem to be target of the month for mindless acts like pebbles at the window etc.  

According to the nice policeman that came to see us, kneecapping is beyond 'reasonable force', can't see it myself as at least it stops them running away.

we had the same thing a few years ago,car damaged,window broken,garden plants pulled out etc,etc,etc.We were going out 1 day and we just knew from the gang hanging around that something would happen.Went back in house and set video camera on sideboard well out of sight,caught the little scamps coming into garden pulling up stuff and smashing milk bottles all over.Police were really good this time and we were able to get them charged,luckily we escaped repercussions from them but did get a visit from parents having a go at us,never known such a complete waste of oxygen as them.wish i could say summat to help but i can sympathise totally to your frustration.don't let the barstewardss grind you down mate.

kids round here are on a dispersal order,no more than 2 together. never been caried out, they still hang around in a large gang  :-?

We've lived in our home for 18 years now, about 3 years ago next door moved out (semi-detached) and it stayed empty for 2 years. Just over a year ago we had an asian guy turn up, no idea who he was or where he come from knocking on the door. Without an introduction he simply said (in a very rude manner) "you wanna sell your house?". Obviously we declined his polite offer! Since then he's moved in next door, spent 4 months hammering, banging, you name it from 6:30am till midnight. then filled the street with cars and continually threatened us! So out I go and spend a fortune on a 7 camera DVR setup covering our property and the road directly in front of us. They have been invaluable including catching him throwing cat 'poop' from his front and rear gardens onto ours. We've also caught him and 4 other guys outside our house with metal bars and bricks after he threatened to "gun us all down" because we parked outside out own house. I obviously told him to 'copulate elsewhere' hence the 'mates' turning up! Of course local police seem to be staffed entirely by PCSO's who just don't give a toss until he accused SWMBO of being a racist. So what did they do? Yes arrested her!!!   I've now got him following me to the supermarket then following me round it! Gotta love the sport button

Reading  the above thread makes me realise how lucky we are here in Lincolnshire.Have lived here for 5 years without any problems whatsoever.....the kids seem to be polite .
Quite often I forget to lock the Omega at night..........but (touch wood ) it is always fine in the morning...........when we go away everything is fine when we return home.
Our previous house was the exact opposite...............lots of trouble ...break-ins......feral kids   mentally unstable neighbours............the woman was deeply unpleasant.and caused problems for just about everyone.in the street...............a complete nightmare so I can have empathy with some of the views here.

SWMBO is originally from Lincoln   We're just waiting for the last daughter to leave home and we're moving back up there! Although I'm not looking forward to moving 4 Morris Minors, a beetle and a trailer tent up there!

Spent some wonderful time in Lincoln working at Alsthom Turbines. Was still in my motorbike phase and never quite got over the police cars moving over to give me room to pass them.

It is a shame when decent people have to pay good money for camera/security systems .....to stop this underclass of people from destroying their property.
Money is tight for many people..and this unwanted expense could be avoided if certain sh#theads knew how to behave.

The DVR and the server that stores the images are both on a UPS. The DVR will run for 2 hours without mains AC

Just the absence of 1 thing from all these YOBS---RESPECT.these people want respect but don't give a s**t about showing it to others.like the original post said  In my day,clip round the ear,bobbies on the beat,parental respect,leave your door open,community etc,this sounds like i am having joke but those were real things and society was much more respecful and better for it.jeez i'm getting old

Don't want to tempt fate but we are lucky where we live, it is only a small village, so most people know each other, at least by sight, and most of the kids are known to everyone, if you have kids anyway.

The place I live can be considered safe and normal..But there are places in [ch304]stanbul that you need to sleep in car with a gun in hand because nowadays they are burning cars
