Our house is 1904 vintage and there are 5 different heights depending on which bit of the house you are in...ranges from over 9' to 6'6"

here in my country ranges from 2.50 to 2.8 meters in new houses ..

But old houses 3 meters and more  :o ;D

About 7-8ft in the UK. It is not a silly question. Why do you need to know? Being nosy now ;D
