Leaving aside the indefensible actions of some racist skinheads, I think the US will face real problems if Obama wins.

First, and foremost, Obama will classify carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant  ::) that can be regulated, opening the way for new rules on greenhouse gas emissions. It will certainly hinder power generation. It could also theoretically mean (especially the litigious way that US society operates these days) that almost every endeavour, from farming to industry will be saddled with huge costs, making the country less competitive and deepening the global recession. He is also a big fan of Al Gore, which is deeply worrying.

Secondly, this from Joe Biden:
"In a stunning statement, Biden acknowledged that Obama’s lack of foreign-policy experience will provoke America’s enemies into creating an international crisis.  Biden apparently thinks this is just terrific."

I don't fancy another crisis right now.  :(

Finally, I think he does not have the necessary business experience which is sorely needed in the current economic climate.

That said, McCain is pretty hopeless, in fact very hopeless. I think, however, that he would provide the slightly more stable transition from one president to the next.

For the voters, it's like choosing between Daffy Duck and Mickey Mouse.  :-/ ::)

That is the event that still plays on the mind Optimist, and JFK was all about change just like Obama is. :( :(

Is it only Democrats that get assassinated Lizzie....or have any Republicans gone the same way...? :y :y
i think theres only been 3 successful assassinations  lincon, kennedy and another whose name i cant remember ,but im sure the history headmistress (lizzie ;D ;D) will put us all straight  :y :y

Along with President Abraham Lincoln, Republican, assisinated in the Ford Theatre, Washington on 14th April 1865t, there was James Garfield, Republican President (the 20th) was assissinated on 2nd July 1881, then William McKinley 6th September 1901 and finally John F. Kennedy, Democrate, on 22nd November 1963 :'( :'( :'(

No I did not!! ::) ::) ::)  Seriously though I am not a specialist historian on American Politics, so the two more obscure names of McKinley and Garfield I had to check in by way of my many reference books! ;D ;D ;D ;)

For those who love as I do amazing facts from History, try the following facts concerning President's Lincoln & Kennedy.  It will keep you checking and thinking! :y :y

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 'S secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

 :D :D ;) ;)

Not really very pleasant, Martin. :(

I don't agree with all she says, but she is the only one of the 4 in the president/vice president race that does not buy into the great global warming scam, so nutter she is not.

Clearly, it's not always the best post that gets the replies.
