been reading through an old copy of perfomance vauxhall. they ran a story about fitting a v6 into an old cav gsi. kinda got me thinking. whats the smallest car that you could fit/shoehorn a x25xe into.

I reckon you could get it into the back of a mini, with a few adaptations! I've seen one with a Rover V8 in!

I've seen similar at Billing. They certainly fill the engine bay.

v6 in a Mk2 cav is a doddle, same for a Mk2/Mk3 astra.....

Corsa requires a little bit of fabrication

have seen a v6 in the front of a mini as well....that's about as small as it will go i would imagine

yes it will go, and it's easier with the Mk1 as it has a remote servo.....

you will need the cut the o/s chassis leg and weld a new engine mount.

i have used a F20 gearbox out of a GSI cav/GTE astra in the past, bolts straight on and you have the advantage of being able to use the XE flywheel which is substantially lighter than the V6 one

you will need a custom exhaust and the rad fans will need a bit of fettling, i used 2 Astra G/Zafira A aircon rad fans, they worked a treat and they sat in front of the rad rather that behind it, thus saving some space.

wiring is a case of connecting 4 wires from the astra body loom to the V6 engine loom.

i have done a few of these on Mk2 cavs, takes about a week or so to do

Rover V8 has been done in a Mini. Transverse installation with a Princess gearbox bodged onto the bottom of it IIRC. One of the Megasquirt forum guys. I haven't seen it in the flesh but apparently it works.

I wondered if a X25XE would fit in a SII or SIII Land Rover?
