I recently got some new number plates made up and opted to have a scotland flag put on the side (As you do).
I have just found out I could be fined for this. I got pulled over for a quick chat by the local police last night while I was driving home rather late and had my car checked over. I was told that everything was in order. So whats the crack?

No offence meant or anything, but this country is pathetic!
Sooner Gordon Brown p!sses off the better. How I got onto Gordon Brown from number plates I don't know. Well mate if anyone says anything just tell them you want the money as you had to pay for your current plates and don't intend on paying again.

The plates were made at the MOT station I take my car to so at least the font is correct. Stupid rules

The above article is from 2001,  but i recently read somewhere that the law is to be changed to allow display of country flags instead of the crap EU laurels

Well i think if you check in the places that make the plates (halfords/online ect) they state that you can have either the euro stars, st george, scotland flag or welsh flag with either GB, ENG, SCO or CMY. My mum's ford has eu stars with ENG and thats from the factory. Although TBH i doubt you'll get pulled for it, maybe charged if you get pulled and argue with cops or something. On my old corsa i had St george's flag with ENG on both front and back, used to get pulled often and never once were my plates mentioned.

My Mig has plates on without anything on oher than the number, recently passed it's MOT and passed last year two, different garages :-/ I have a Private plate and bought them off the internet, no hassel with having to go with ID etc. :-/

that doesn't mention postcode anywhere does it? unless my tired eyes aren't working quite right :-?
