HGV...New truck.
« on: 02 November 2008, 21:44:20 »

After nearly 4 years in my Scania i'm off to Burnley tomorrow in my new (to me) Volvo Globetrotter. It's a baby, half leather, central locking, air con, wood dash, cracking stereo with speakers everywhere, cruise, & i can stand up & walk about in it. All my day & night gear is put away instead of all over the place. I wanted this truck a year ago when the boss bought it. Now the driver's left & after alot of discussing/whinging i've got it. 2 others were after it but i've been there longest so ner ner ner!!!!!
No great shakes to most of you i know but it's like any advancement/improvement in your respective careers that you've been waiting on, then finally arrives so i'm a happy chappy! :)

Well done :y I had a Gobstopper XXL (FH16/580 6x4) as my last unit before I came off the continentals, a real nice unit and even at 44 ton it pulled like it was empty!

I know the feeling of joy when you've got a decent wagon to spend your time in... Makes those long days and nights out a little more bearable :y :y

What box has it got? Mine was a triple split 7 full manual. The Stralis I had before was horrid to drive with the semi-auto box, clutch for 1st and clicky clicky the rest of the way up!
