.......
jealous AA.. ;D Its soo much easier to work on a 2.2 engine  ;)

I suppose a 2.2 must be about 2/3rds as easy to work on as a proper engine! ;D

I can change my plugs in about 5 mins......how long for a V6?  ;D ;)
How often do you need to change 'em though?
How long does it take you to do 60mph?  ;D

i voted 8  ;D

Because i think if you want real performance thats what you need, the chassis can handle it. Vx proved this by almost fitting it.

A 6.0 V8 from the Monaro VXR? In an Omega Elite with MV6 springs and the diff from the Monaro?? All hooked up to a manual gearbox  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think i just wet myself with that image  ::)

Engine Type was officially Y 57 XE
Transmission was AR60

And this is what the Omega engine bay looked like with the Northstar V8 engine:

Apparently the beast did exist, if only in prototype form.

How about one of those nice 5 cylinder T5 Volvo engines?? They make that nice warbling sound a bit like an audi quattro, so that can't be too bad! A bloke in Practical Classics mag was transplanting one into  a Volvo P1800, but I have no idea what gearbox he was using to convert it into a rear driver. An added advantage would also be that I wouldn't have to keep taking the bloody windscreen wiper system out to carry out maintenence too!

Personally, I'd favour a nice V8 though - with a carb and clockwork ignition. Then I'd just have to find a dodgy MOT guy to pass the emmissions!

There's also a bloke in PC mag putting some sort of V16 aeroplane engine into a Rover SD1 - he claims it'll do over 200mph, but I dunno where!

Possibly an easier route would be to just buy a nice V8 5-Series beemer??? I'm not sure I could handle the hordes of people attempting to buy drugs off me if I did that though! ::)
