Talent spotting, a profitable business
« on: 04 November 2008, 00:13:14 »

A bloke in cambs. saw Lewis  Hamilton kart racing 10 years ago.
He put a £100 bet on that he would win the F1 championship in the future. He picked up a cheque this morning for approx. £125,000. 8-)

That's neat, Albitz. I wish I'd done that.  :y

On the subject of bets, I bet 10p that one day in the future you'll be a Newbie. What odds would I get at Ladbrokes?   ;) ;D  ;D

The Karting circuit where Hamilton's career took off was at Rye House Kart Raceway in Hoddesdon where I live. Wish I'd gone there more often but didn't know he was a future talent at the time.

Apparently, there is a new talent emerging from this circuit that has just secured around £15000 worth of sponsorship and his age...........5 years old!! :o

Watch this space in 15 years time. ::)

the challenge for Hamilton is to build in that success and win more, but without becoming a figure of hate AKA Michael (follow me round the track in my red car) Schumacher

i have no doubt he is a talented driver......he has to be to get to where he is today, but i still believe he is also able to continue that success without turning into an ego-maniac
