So....  If I wanted to strap a chaingun on with unlimited lives and ammo, viewing through a 40" plus LCD and a "break off the neighbours" sound system, which would you prefer??

edit - which is the best noisy shooty gun game to piss off the neighbours with then??   ;D

Games i can recommend to you H21 would be- Gears of War 1 & 2. Dark Sector & Dead Space, all these will keep the neighbours awake whilst you're awake (if you so wish) For a bit sneeking around with silencers attached I would say- Call of Duty 4 & Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Completed all of these & they're FF :y :y :y :y :y

Can you get Duke Nukem and/or Quake on any of these platforms?  Played both lots and lots when they first came out.  Suited my 'career path' at the time....   ;D

Duke Nukem is one of my all time favorite games!

I used to be a PC gamer, hated consoles, but the constant need to upgrade the PC and getting games to work was a pain.

For cheap, good fun shooting people, best combination is a xbox and Call of Duty 4  :y

Its the best all around package (price/controllers/games available/online community)

Don't think they are, as XBOX360 compatibility with original XBOS games is not brilliant, and gayStation's compatibility with PS/2 was removed.

Even on the early consoles, those games always seemed better in PC format...

i have both, in theory the have it all, cake and eat answer is the ps3. The complication is 360 is better for gameing, just, imho. Depends what you will realisticaly use it for. For me you may as well have blu ray as well. Forza 2 for me though is the business, you can hear via 5.1 surround, wind, transmission, induction, road and exhaust noise, with echo off the hill sides on the ring. Really sets the seen and makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Not got far enough on prologue to see that emulated  yet, tbh, dont think its as good as forza 2 which is 360 only. Dont see where media centre comes into it so far, last time i looked at it they wanted over a grand and with the demise of HD discs, no hd option? Presumeably things have moved on some what, i havent looked at m centre for ages tbh.

Microsoft Media Center, not the media functionality built in.  It means I can schedule and watch any recorded programs (recorded on the MCE PC under telly) anywhere in house where xbox is, using the MCE interface.  Likewise, I can view pictures, listen to music, watch xvids -  all stored (or accessible) on MCE, watched/listened wherever the xbox happens to be.  For hi-def, wifi not enough, needs to be wired though.

For me, my xbox is only used as a Media Center Extender.  If you want to understand media center, and extenders, look them up on web

For me the 360 is much to unreliable.....far to mnay motherboard and DVD failures!

I was looking at the Wii at the weekend.....and its over priced. If it was 50 quid less it would be owrth it but, its only 80 quid cheaper than a PS3!

My 2p's worth!

We have all 3 under the telly (Wii, Xbox360, PS3).

Wii - Great for pick-up and play fun - not much else.
Xbox360- Great games and graphics etc amazing - BUT the noise of the damn thing is unreal - when you turn it off its like having a headache suddenly disappear - Also the much rated online community (xboxlive) costs you £40 a year - you can't play onlines games unless you subscribe to it!
PS3 - looks good, quiet, stunning graphics - as good games as the xbox, built-in Blu-Ray, wireless controllers have built-in batteries that recharge from the cable - (Xbox needs batteries every week or so).

The decision though, really hinges on a game you are after - if it is one of the ones where you want vast online multi-player capacity - then buy an xbox360, subscribe to Xboxlive and go for it.  For anything else, get a PS3.
