Recovery of Lost Data, anyone???
« on: 17 November 2008, 19:01:48 »

Folks....  Help...

Recently, I transfered all of my recent digital photos, onto the laptop, then I collated them and dragged and dropped them across to a dvd disc.  I accessed them to make sure that they were accesible prior to deleting them from my CF card and my laptop files.

Last night I attempted to find one picture in particular.  The disc cannot be accessed, it says it's empty!  Yet, there is visible data tracking on the dvd... :-/

Obviously I need to recover this disc, can anyone pleeeeese, suggest, help or whatever to help me get these piccys back :'(

Thanks in advance.. :-*

Hi
I use DIR digital image recovery, it can be used on hard drives and memory cards.
Small download from here http://asia.geocities.com/michelangelo_123/download.htm Just click cancel on the instal language pack.
Or I can email it to you directly.

Mike

P.S. it is quite powerful, do not try to do a whole hard drive unless you have hours to trawl through it afterwards.
And it will recover every picture including "dodgy ones"

If you read your memory card through a memory card reader, you can recover the images off the card even if you have deleted them. And if you have formatted the card it will still recover them. It will not recover them if they have been written over.

Sounds like the disc wasn't finalised. As you said...
