Just blown over £400 at ebuyer, and since I did my quote the prices have gone up by about £20

Saw links to cheaper places but the reviews put me off them

Hope it was a 965 mobo or better

Unless your old drives were SATA, you may have a problem.  Also, for XP, you may need F6 driver for modern SATA controllers, so keep the floppy handy (Vista can get from usb stick)
