Hello again folks - long time no speak...  :(

Well, as some of you may well know, I chopped in the life of Miggy ownership to get back onto 2 wheels.

It has served as a reminder that when the weather gets cold, on a motorbike, it's bl00dy cold!

I've ended up getting a Saab 9-3 Turbo to tide me over for the winter months, but there's one thing for sure - it don't fill the void left by my Miggy.  I miss my Miggy  :'(  :'(

I've looked at other motors to potentially fill this void on a more permanent basis, and even drawn up a short-list as below, but to no avail, unless anyone else can offer any better advice to the conclusions I've drawn?

Alfa 156 v6: Pro's - gorgeous motor, gorgeous engine, nice handling.  Con's - not a case of "if" it goes wrong - it's a case of "when" and "how much?!"

Alfa 166: ditto.

BMW 3 Series: Pro's - decent engines and handling.  Con's - rear diff issues, rear bushes issues, equipment levels a bit miserly as standard, not that special anymore.

Jag S-Type: Pro's - good looking motor (well, I think so anyway!), pretty darn quick in V6 Manual format.  Con's - some reliability issues on the early ones, parts can be expensive, hard to come by with a manual box.

Merc E-Class: Pro's - solid, prestige.  Con's - rust issues, hard to find one with a decent lump and manual box.

Volvo S80 T6: Pro's - big solid Volvo, big 2.8 twin turbo volvo lump, 260 brake gee-gees.  Con's - questionmark over reliability of Geartronic semi-auto box, parts can be pricey.

So I'm on the lookout for another Miggy, pref another 3.2 V6 Manual to replace the ol' girl I never should have sold.  But then again - ain't we all...  Unless anyone can suggest another motor I may not have on my horizon???

you after a saloon or estate?

i keep passing ex plods and wonder if the saloon ones might have been yours!!

We never did get that meet sorted did we?  Sorry bud - was a stupidly busy time at work since August, and still is...  Ahh well, pays the bills I suppose...

Mine was a saloon, on a 52-plate.  Ended up selling it to a nice chap from round these here parts, so you might well still see it buzzing about around God's country.

As for the Beemer 5-series - well, I testdrove a 523i manual on a T-plate, and it just felt a bit gutless.  Gorgeous motor though, but I'd be looking for at least a 528i.  But finding one of them with a manual box is a bit like finding the proverbial needle in the proverbial haystack...

This is my trusted steed BTW - albeit not a very warm one!

as slow as the corsa is, i took the chavvy stuff off it and replaced bits with tidy parts off the 2003+ SRi model so it now looks presentable

how its treating me?.... VERY very well financially and thats the main thing!! the car wants for practically nothing and with fuel prices dropping at a rate of what seems like every 12 hours, the only thing more economical is my pedal bike!! ;D

Its a Truimph Bonneville or a tiger depends on how many carbs its got

Its a Truimph Bonneville or a tiger depends on how many carbs its got  

Close but no cigar - it's a Kawasaki W650 - a blatant rip-off of a 60's Bonnie (even has a proper man's kick-start on it  :D)

Glad the Corsa's treating you well bud.  

I think another Miggy is looking top of the list really.  Anybody know someone flogging a 3.2 Manual saloon??  :-?
