VED increase cancelled ?
« on: 21 November 2008, 22:07:21 »

According to BBC news the planned increase in ved will be cancelled as part of the tax cuts which are being planned.
Downside is,give it 3 or 4 years and taxes will rise so much we wont be able to afford to run a bicycle.

Sorry?

Does this mean that the proposed hike on road tax for post march 2001 cars is not going to increase to £400+ next year after all?

Well if they do, then can I sue the government for making me sell the wife's volvo at a reduced price, and bu a smaller car at increased price. And all because of this tax.
At the end of the day there must be thousands of people in our situation.
Love to no if we have any legal recourse.

Vote accordingly, as many will. :y

Gordon Brown was on Jeremy Vines show yesterday, he pulled the copycat routine when a trucker from Southampton phoned in about his fixed interest 5 year mortgage.  GB did just what Mr Blair did and agrred to have a private word with the man after the show, to see what they could sort out. ::)

I can see my local town changing sides again - it went C to L at boundary changes and the local mp went sideways into a new one with half of his old one, L took over Worcester.

TBH our local mp does nothing but vote whatever he is told, ie pro ID cards ect >:(

Our next mp will be the son of a retired mp who was replaced by the first mentioned C mp. A bit blunt I think but I expect to see a swing back next election.

Middle earners will get no benefit from these "giveaways", but will be taxed to death to help to pay for them. I truly hope that this bunch of tossers get routed at the next election.

I am a Conservative and couldn't agree more with you, but I just wonder if David Cameron has the imagination and strength of character to pull this country around as we all want once GB and his monkeys have gone! ::) ::) ::)

I want to think so, but the mess we are in is extreme and from what David has said already, don't expect any massive miracles like tax cuts, as GB is borrowing at the rate of £2,000 per second to keep it all afloat.  The incomming party will have to work bloody hard to reverse that!! ::) ::) >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Some one I used to wor with lodged rather than buy or rent his own place, the last place I saw him at was a house owned by a Conservative MP and there was a cabinet photo (with Maggie) in the loo.
