Some one I used to wor with lodged rather than buy or rent his own place, the last place I saw him at was a house owned by a Conservative MP and there was a cabinet photo (with Maggie) in the loo.

Middle earners will get no benefit from thes "giveaways", but will be taxed to death to help to pay for them. I truly hope that this bunch of tossers get routed at the next election.

I am a Conservative and couldn't agree more with you, but I just wonder if David Cameron has the imagination and strength of character to pull this country around as we all want once GB and his monkeys have gone! ::) ::) ::)

I want to think so, but the mess we are in is extreme and from what David has said already, don't expect any massive miracles like tax cuts, as GB is borrowing at the rate of £2,000 per second to keep it all afloat.  The incomming party will have to work bloody hard to reverse that!! ::) ::) >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Member, supporter, or toilet user (don't ask :-[)

I have to. What planet are you from exactly?

Planet Earth, a Conservative supporter and proud of it!  Why?  Where are you from? ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I think you'll find I was asking Martin, but that's never stopped a woman before.

Well if they do, then can I sue the government for making me sell the wife's volvo at a reduced price, and bu a smaller car at increased price. And all because of this tax.
At the end of the day there must be thousands of people in our situation.
Love to no if we have any legal recourse.

Great idea Manta.
Doubt that it will work though. ;D ;D ;D :-* :-*

If things keep heading in the same direction i think Brown has a good chance of being re-elected.The lefty media (BBC/Sky news) are portraying him as A world statesman who is going to heal the global economy. And the British electorate are notoriously fickle and suffer from memory lapse.Brown may even funnel the money being borrowed towards marginal constituencies.
Meanwhile Cameron and  (more so)Osborne are increasingly looking like boys who want mens jobs.

Personally, I, like most folk, think they're all a load of crooks. But, sadly, we tend to vote for the people we hate least rather than like most.

At least in Scotland there is a viable alternative to Tory/Labour and it's not the Lib/Dems - by the way the Tories are now dead ducks in Scotland and if DC (pity his middle name is not Ian) gets in at the next election he would gladly let Scotland become independent as there's no way back for the Tories.

I find politics in general totally exasperating nowadays. Everything is a knee-jerk reaction to some outlandish human rights/racial equality/child protection etc. issue. When real politicians were in office it would take 56 memorandums and a vote in the house to decide on which size paper clip to use. :(

presumably the alternative is the SNP, so a vote for them is a vote for Scottish indepenence anyway.
The Tories btw are the one party who believe resolutely in unionism,so I cant see them cutting Scotland loose, they may however alter the ludicrous situation whereby scottish MP,s vote in westminster on issues which affect England but dont apply in Scotland (uni fees/prescription charges etc), and no, I dont support the Tories,to left wing for me these days. ;)

Like evrything, that ball bounces both ways...

Maggie tested the water with poll tax/community charge by overnumbers of English MP's in Scotland before unleashing it on the rst of the UK...

I, for one, would be sad if the United Kingdom was to be split up. I consider the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish to be part of the same country. We've been through enough together. When I was in the army (long ago) we were all in it together, none of this devolution nonsense.

I also believe that the best option is fir the constituent parts of the U.K. to stick together, certainly much more than seems to be the case at the moment.I do believe though that the devolution experiment is a waste of time and that all 4 countries of the u.k. should be governed by one government at Westminster or be given full independence.
The situation we have at the moment imo just isnt right, the ball may have swung too far the other way in Thatchers time but it doesnt make it right to let it swing too far the other way in the future.
btw H21 the poll tax experiment didnt quite get rolled out across the U.K it never got to norn irn,she was brave but not that brave. ;D
