Don't the Police uphold parking restrictions
« on: 24 November 2008, 11:58:15 »

I just got back from doing some shopping & right across from the Supermarket is a Police Station, next to the Station is an access road to a car park with double yellow lines on both sides of the road.
Parked half on the pavement & on the double yellows are a van & 3 cars. Every time i've come passed the road there's allways a few vehicles parked there. Now i don't recal the last time i saw a Traffic Warden around were i live (it was so long ago).
I don't know about were you live, but around here folk just seem to have a free for all when it comes around to parking. I even see trucks & vans parked on the zig zigs next to crossings when their unloading to the shops, now i believe this to be a penalty points & fine offence.
Seems as though we've lost most of our Traffic Cops & Wardens & they've been replaced by Greed Cameras. Since when has a camera done a driver for drink/drug driving, parking illegaly & driving like a complete arse >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Is just my opinion or has everything just gone arse upwards :-?

Park behind them and take a photo, if you get a ticket then show the picture in court and then the local papers.

Also hacks me off that they do it in Rotherham and faced the wrong way in the process.

If they want us to abide by the law then they should uphold it and lead by example.

Unless there is a serious obstruction, Police Ossifers can't do much about parking offences anymore. It's all been civilianised to council enforcement officers..

Reason for edit - I can't spell!

The route I take to our city centre has always got cars, vans trucks parked on double yellows and sometimes right up against the traffic lights most times of day. It's also a main route back to the local police station, do they ever bother about it, couldn't give a dam even when they are held up by the obstructions.
