An interesting day out, IMHO. Very good tour guides there who know the history very well.

Plenty of opportunities in the summer when the sir shows are on.

One visited our gliding club a year or two ago. Had a sit in the cockpit.

South is worth visiting thats sure..But for North where is the Fabrique

Lake district is nice, too. Bring your tent, about June time, and you might find an OOF meet. As long as we find a more hospitable camp site.

I highly recommend Cem Manston Air Museum in Kent which has a great collection of Battle of Britain memorbilia including Spitfires.



Superb flying machines beyond comparison due to their unique history in the minds of the British people.
