Mike, I was wondering what your views were on the Thailand troubles and whether this will affect your plans?

To late, thats already in the post.  ;D

Was porting some 3.0 heads and inlet last night.....plan to do the same on this one. Just a basic stage 1 i.e. matched ports and smoothed contours.

Then it will get new stem seals and manifold gaskets, re-sealed oil cooler....and christ does the hand brake need sorting!

Now where is Timbuk and those 3.0 cams he had....wonder if he owes Mr Dundee a favour or two  :y

I would say so, it was Mike that put Timbuk intouch with his current MV6 for £350 ::)

Why 3.0 and not 2.5?

I thought 2.5 were higher compression ratio.

Actually what CRs do the 2.5 and 3.0 heads give on a 2.6?

Ah, think we are at cross purposes here....its not the heads that will be fitted, just the cams.

The 3.0 heads are to go on the shelf following refurb

Mike, I was wondering what your views were on the Thailand troubles and whether this will affect your plans?

Nick

Well as at yesterday, re-booked flights to Kuala lumpur (no extra cost) waited until today, then paid for flights from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket, tonight booked flights from Phuket to Bangkok, then Bangkok to Udon Thani >:(,

So earliest can fly out to Kuala is Saturday 2.15p.m., to Doha, Doha to Kuala (should arrive there abut 9am Sunday morning our time, then 2/3 hrs before flight to Phuket, this is the good bit that cost me money £680 one way >:(...flight levaes 18.10 7/12, and arrives Phuket 18>25 7/12 :o....on my birthday aswell, so spend one noght in Phuket, next day catch flight to Bangkok, then wait for an hour then another flight up north, all going well should hit the house by 4.30 Thai time next Monday (10.3a.m. UK time).

Pissed off ::)...yes >:(...but all I want to do is just get there, yesterday there were no flights from Phuket to bangkok, and I was contenplating hiring a car and driving almost 1k miles from Phuket, thankfully I don't have to do that now :y
