2) I cleaned all my interior windows with RainX anti-fog last night- and following your other post I moved my spare fleece from the boot compartment to free up the vent. Today 4 of us and a soggy pram went out today in torrential rail - air con off - eco only - and not a hint of mist.  I also cleaned scuttle last month and replaced pollen filter - if a job's worth doing.........  ;D

Yes the Omega has it's problems.  BUT all cars have their issues. However, things like the door strap are annoying and Vaux could and should have done something about it.

Going on to their good points, I have just driven from Heathrow to the middle of Devon.  I arrived feeling as fresh as when I left home - the only other car I have driven that can claim that is my Cavalier.  Try a long trip in a Golf!!

The coversation at the dinner table went alongthe lines - "it was so smooth we did not know we were going along" and "when sitting at the traffic lights you do not know when the engine is running".

So they have their downsides sure, but the good points outweigh these!

Just my opinion and no offence intended.

My door check straps are fine.  I asked Vx to look at the rattling door pins once and it came out with new check straps cos the service manager never listened and thought he knew best.  ;D ;D

I hope nobody takes offence at any post - we all have our own opinions, and here we encourage debate on such things :)

My door check straps are fine.....
Cos yours is a face lift and Vauxhall had apparently modified the doors - don't know what they did, reinforcing plate from the factory perhaps?

Doors on facelift meggas feel so damn heavy and solid, the really feel a lot more solid compared to pre-facelift.

It must be the reinforcing plate that Andy mentioned  :D

The spring on the check strap will be newer so a not quite as weak. That's my theory!  ::)

Just from the threads posted today we have hit on four COMMON problems with omegas:-

1) Manual gearboxes are sh*te

2)  They mist up badly

3) Divers door locks dont like wet, damp weather

4) Door check straps were designed by a five year old.

Why do we bother? >:(

There not problems, just character ;D

Must admit after the mileage mines done recently in comfort can't knock the old bus at all

Besides if i did it might hear me and breakdown

How many of us don't laugh at the cars on the side of the motorway in case the car hears :-X

It's not just a white VW that has a mind of its own :y
