Swmbo and I were just talking about that. This new mortgage deal and remember no, or little income tax better than the dole.
Not so bad if other half working and you can get some cash in hand work.
I gues this is only the begining, in manufacturing but I have to say I do not know of anyone particularly suffering at the mo. :-/
Leaving out house prices as personaly I don't count that cos it is my home, oh and like many of us where I live we do not have loads of money stashed away so interest rate dropping is an advantage, just my situation. :)

interest rates would be an advatage (hardly any savings) but we tied in for 2 more years on fixed rate :-/

we had a bit of a doom and gloom meeting at work yesterday, going to be very quiet next year and sales boys are trying to get evryones help and ideas (we build timber frame houses)

not looking to clever  :(

Fair point :( think if any money goes in it should buy shares, and only look after UK end, perhaps nationalise it, but learning from the past. :)

Dont think they could nationalise sites owned by GM/Honda/Nissan etc;
But almost every car plant in britain is in a labour constituency ,and most of the mp,s dont have big majorities.I think the only exception is Bentley at Crewe. :)
He also pledged $10 billion (iirc) to Afghanistan today to help with its elections next year.
This previously unthinkable level of borrowing will take generations to pay back.
