Just a Note, I don't know about the standard sky & sky + boxes but the Sky HD box has a Auto Standy Option in the settings, You need to make sure this is OFF. If left on, Every now and then it will make the box unresponsive after auto standby and eventually it will brick the box. Its happened to me.

if you have been with sky for over a year, phone up and say you want to cancel and they will almost certainly give you a much betterdeal/upgrade.Apparently people are leaving in droves at the moment and they will give great deals to keep your custom.Told this by a member of the sales team as he said that if they stop a cancellation they get it put down as a sale. :y

Have considered i, I have an excuse and opportuneity to do that in the fact I am moving home in a few weeks and the place I am moving to doesnt have Sky, but me thinks the best I might get offered is the moving home deal which is worth £65

True, I have been with them a few years.

Had problems with the box a while back and they couldnt fix if over the phone.  So told em where to shove, had an engineer out 2 days later and ended up with what supposed to be a new box, sadly it wasnt, and after the next call I got a brand spanking new box.

Didnt improve the repeats though.

Next time you call tell them you are going to buy a Humax HDR and watch them panic ;D

Bet you would get a free Sky HD out of that!
