Is it enviromentally acceptable to just lose the water anywhere?
Cant think of anywhere else to put it mind
So whats the consensus? park over a drain to do this?

cheers guys, although i might put a bit of pure stuff in there as Jaime said it can be a bit weak on the last fills? I only put 50/50 mix in. The last 5L was mixed in the old coolant bottle, did not use the bottom part so think most of it sunk to the bottom.

Do you think its worth putting in a bit of pure stuff?

According to Car Mechanics Magazine, unlike engine oil it is permissable to pour anti-freeze down the drain but only if it goes into a water system that is being treated afterwards - so pouring it down the toilet is OK, but pouring it down the drain in the street is not...

Modern antifreeze is not glycol based so does not do the same harm to the environment....but, it is now classed as hazardous waste.....

I am sure no one here has ever poured anti-freeze down the drain before   (whistling innocently)

I am on new estate, and some of the drains (like one in my driveway, and the gutter pipe near it) go in to sewer. Other downpipes go to drains in road.  I know this after the guy from dynarod scratched his head for a couple of hours trying to work out what was going on...

Following on with the whole coolant change I have been thinking of changing the header tank for a clear/white one instead of the yellow one am I right to assume they are interchangable and if so can anyone give a possible part number and price as to me the clear/white bottle look nicer than the yellow and more readable.

Was thinking this would be something you could do whilst doing the change.

Perhaps the details could be added to the How2

I believe they all started out the same colour?
