Tesco's Flour...
« on: 03 January 2007, 18:18:26 »

My friends mum was baking, and when she opened the flour, there were horrible insects crawling around in it!

Disgusting! Just thought I'd share this, if anyone's bought any, check it!!

These?

We managed to get an infestation of something similar from rabbit food. They made a satisfying crunch when you squashed them though!  ;D

Flour weevils, not uncommon, can be in any flour
Also will do you no harm to eat em, will increase protein intake as well.
for the sake of a bag of flour though, when I get em, I tend to just get a new bag.

Found some in a new bag the other week.  Took it back to Tescons and the stroppy mare at custard services said it was my fault for keeping it in the cupboard over the microwave and that it was alright to eat them!
Still got it replaced though.

Bit Harsh. Not their fault is it, they just get it in and put in on the shelf. I would just ask for a new bag and leave it at that.
