Tacky Towers
« on: 23 December 2008, 00:26:46 »

We used to do a wee scouting around expidition when on general patrol on the run up to Christmas, trying to spot the most outlandish and chav set of Christmas lights and decorations on a house....

Anyone game for showing pics of what they consider to be the house with the ultimate OTT Christmas decorations?  Lets go for actual pics of real homes near you, rather than those gleaned from google images or the web in general....

We await your contributions...   :y

We live a couple of miles away from the Stourbridge Illuminations. They are residents on a local street that go OTT every year and raise around £20,000 a year for charity. We always go see and make a donation.

My mate has calmed it down this year.  Last year, he had a landing strip on the roof for Santa, reindeers, santa climbing up and down the side of the house, and Oh Yes . . .. an £800 electric bill.

Getting back on topic.....i havent taken a pic of a house round the corner from me......coz it wont show how chav imo it is  ;D

Let me describe it.....its all decorated in BLUE lights (totally wrong imo, whats wrong with traditional white/red/green)
It has a BLUE santa and reindeers of the roof, BLUE lights running along the gutterings top and bottom.
The santa and reindeer flash on and off and the lights on the gutterings are suppose to be icle dropping type lights.....but they sequence so fast it looks more like a light show at a nightclub!  ::)

You've gotta see it to believe it!! lol!!

Thats why a still pic wont do it justice.

Walk around the corner and a house has the same type of lights running around the gutterings......but in white and the sequence slowly cascade down the lights.....much more pleasing to the eye and more traditional imo.....

Sorry if ive offended anyone thats got blue lights decorating their house.....but blue isnt traditional imo  :(

We normally have a bit of a show, well known in the village, but not OTT. :y

Bought some new reindeer for this year and loads more lights, including blue icicle lights. :P :P :P

Been poorly though so none have been put up this year and too late now.... :( :( :(
