iPods
« on: 31 December 2008, 19:37:34 »

SWMBO has mythered for an iPod for ages. I've heard at various times that they can be pain regarding loading music etc using iTunes. Despite this I bought her one this Christmas- 16Gb Nano.
Connecting it up to the PC it started to load up every bit of music the PC had stored on it. The downside is that she now has stuff like Marilyn Manson & Slipknot that my lad has put on the PC.  :-?  :-?  ;D  ;D
I've had a look at it and tried to get shut of stuff that's on her iPod and although I stopped it from loading up music automatically I can't seem to be able to delete from it, to start again. My daughter's boyfriend seems to think I'd have to delete from the PC stuff I do NOT want loading to the iPod .... that can't be right  .... can it?? :-/
So ....... in simpe terms ... HTF do you delete from an iPod?

It's a piece of cake on my little mp3 player. :y

keep the music in itunes on the PC, use the tick boxes on the left hand side to decide which ones you want on the ipod, and then on the sync page tick the box "sync checked songs only" (or something similar) then re-sync the ipod............

That's now the problem. I've kind of sussed how to put specific tracks onto the iPod, and put them into playlists. It's just that I can't suss out how to delete those tracks that have already auto loaded onto it.   :-?

The gayPod isn't a bad device to be honest, though woefully overpriced.  The problem is the rather useless software that Apple, the gay tossers, insist you use.

That and the fact that Apple was voted the most Gay Friendly brand (in IT) earlier in the year, confirming my suspicsions that anyone who owned one batted somewhat differently to me and other straight guys....

Confession time, I actually use the iTunes software but only because I don't have an iPod/iPhone...if you can keep it isolated it isn't too bad and will behave itself plus it does keep the files well organised. All my music is on a USB drive which I only connect if I want to listen keeping it on a really short leash.
Difficulty is finding a good option, used to used Musimatch Jukebox but then they were bought out by Yahoo and didn't so much go downhill as off the cliff.

TB must be busy today, only the second post.
One company not on the gay list, afaict, microsoft?

Ipods have been a thorn in my side since the 3rd generation lump of crap came out. Useless, nothing works with it, and i tunes has trashed the pc twice when updateing, which is the only 2 occassions we have ever used it.

Make sure what ever you buy for the new nano works with the chargeing voltage, apple changed it, im told, dont ask me why.
 ...in car stuff esp.

Afaik, the ipod will only mirror what in i tunes, or what i tunes is told to write to it. Mind you its a while
since i messed with one, running out of office doors!

They are not on the gay list, but I would have to say, the chief architect of Hyper-V 2008 has gay tendencies  >:(

Very few companies make it on the gay list.  In fact, with the demise of Amtrak - good riddance - the gay list shrunk last year.

And, yes, Sony are on the gay list.

All from a certain large company :-[
