Unbelievable!
« on: 01 January 2009, 09:52:10 »

Yesterday morning I had to go out at about 08:30.

It was extremely foggy and icey around where I live.

Couldn't believe the number of cars driving about with no lights, and an even greater number that hadn't de-iced all ther windows before setting off.

I was down Manchester way yesterday and the temp was down to minus 6 with freezing fog.  Cold enough to freeze screenwash, judging by the number of folks driving around through really manky screens that were barely touched by the wipers, safe effect as if the washer bottle was dry....   :(

Went to the shops yesterday (Wednesday) and on the way home (12-ish) there was a queue of traffic. There was 3 or 4 plod standing in the road and few others around the general area and also a camera man.....

I was forced to stop (in turn) and a very nice officer said "Good morning sir, sorry to delay your journey! We are just trying to ensure that everyone drives safely over the Christmas & New Year, tell me, have you had anything to drink last night or today?". I felt like saying yeah! 20 cups of tea, but thought better of it (no-one likes a smart@rse). Anyway, he thanked me, wished me Happy New Year and I was on my way again.

Still if this is the approach to catch DUI drivers or those without insurance/tax etc, then 'bring it on'

Mrs TheBoy's early morning trip to Banbury yesterday was delayed until I was able to get some charge into the car that was blocking the other 2 on the driveway...  ...really must replace those glow plugs ::)

This is a good idea & it helps to create a better relationship between the public & the Police. In the mean time, camera's are cheaper >:( >:(
