Can I tax my car now?
« on: 01 January 2009, 15:07:26 »

Here is the score. My car insurance starts on the Pug, on 6th Jan 09.

It needs taxing. I have the insurance certificate, stating insurance starts on 6th Jan.

Question is - can I use this to tax it, before the 6th Jan? Or must I wait till the 6th?

Cheers :y

Unfortunately you'll have to wait 'till the 6th... The car isn't currently insured!! ::) ::)

Actually it is - but, only with a temporary, Dayinsure Policy - therefore not able to use that to tax it...  :(

i suppose you could chance your luck on getting served by an idiot at the post office who might fail to pay attention to the date on the policy cover note! But it would be a naughty thing to do

Not sure quite what you mean.

My car insurance covers me for using the car in connection for my business.

My business insurance covers me for liability and public indemnity.

Not sure how either of these could help me tax a car - also I'm not sure of this licence you speak of?  :-/

If you did "get away" with that you would still be driving the car on a public road uninsured. ;)  That is not recommended! :o :o
