Real Ale - 99p Pint as from Tomorrow (well almost)

Just left my local Wetherspoons Pub (Yea I know, but Ive got 2 within a 5 min walk from where I live), anyway as we were leaving they were putting up Posters, 'Green King IPA 99p a pint' as from tomorrow, every Wetherspoons Pub all day, every day untill further notice!.

Now its not realy my cup of tea, more of a Directors, Ruddles, Youngs type of Real Ale pint for me, but started thinking wheres the catch?, or is it just a Foward Thinking Pub Chain preparing for the Credit Crunch???

Aye, my mate said he read 99p a pint other day, also their meal prices have been cut too, and they were cheap in the first place!  :y

Guess where im going for tea on tues night....  ;)

Been on the news since around 7 o'clock. The Nanny groups are already calling for the Government to step in and control the price reductions. They reckon we'll all be binge drinking ourselves silly.

Nahh, just drinking and eating the same amount, but with more change in our pockets. They tried that one when it all went 'All Day Drinking'. :y

Just got back in, so here we go...  :P







Seems so strange going to the bar, and ordering 2 meals and 4 bottles of lager, giving them a tenner AND getting change back!  :D :D :D :D  ;D ;D :y

There are posters inside the pub in York saying that these prices are staying until March.  :y :D

I remember seeing something about this and dismissing it as being too good to be true. Shame Greene King IPA has gone downhill a bit since it won Champion Beer of Britain a few years back. :-/

Hopefully it'll start a petrol style price war.
