Martin, that tube is going soft, hence my hat survivies another day. No way will any tube not start to go soft after 7 yrs of heavy use.  As I said, you would see this if you put it up against a new Wega (if such a thing still existed).

DVE is Digital Video Essentials

It is used for calibrating TVs and projectors

Test cards,  frequency sweeps, lots of test patterns
